문화재청 궁능유적본부 세종대왕유적관리소(소장 박판용)는 12월 1일(금) 오전 10시부터 2시간 동안 세종대왕역사문화관 및 세종대왕릉 능침 일원(경기도 여주시)에서 국내외 성인 40명을 대상으로 세종대왕을 주제로 한 인문강좌 ‘세종대왕 영릉(英陵)의 문무석인’을 개최한다.
강좌는 세종대왕의 시대와 업적을 살펴보고, 세계유산이자 조선 최초의 합장릉인 영릉(英陵)의 구조와 문무석인에 대한 강연을 들은 후 제향공간을 탐방하고, 석물들을 직접 확인해보는 순서로 진행된다.
특히, 중국 황제릉, 고려 공민왕릉 등과 구별되는 조선왕릉 영릉만의 특징을 직접 보고 들을 수 있어 더욱 흥미로운 시간이 될 것이다.
* 문무석인: 왕릉을 지키는 돌로 만들어진 문관(관복을 입고 관을 쓰고 있음)과 무관(갑옷을 입고 두 손으로 칼을 짚고 있음)
이번 강좌에는 특히, 지난 8월 덕수궁의 외국인 홍보대사로 위촉됐던 샤바(헝가리), 송아(중국) 등을 비롯한 주한 외국인 영향력자(인플루언서) 10명도 함께 참여한다. 강좌에 참여를 희망하는 내외국인은 누구나 별도 예약 없이 당일 세종대왕역사문화관을 방문하면 선착순 30명까지 참여 가능하다.
문화재청 궁능유적본부 세종대왕유적관리소는 앞으로도 지속적인 교육과 홍보를 통해 세종대왕의 삶과 조선왕릉의 가치를 세계인에게 확산하기 위한 적극행정을 펼쳐나갈 계획이다.
The King Sejong Shrine Management Office (Director Park, Pan-Yong) of the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Cultural Heritage Administration will host a humanities-themed lecture on the topic of “The Stone Civil and Military Officials* of Yeongneung, Tomb of King Sejong,” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, December 1, at the King Sejong History and Culture Museum and at the tomb of King Sejong.

This educational event is designed for an adult audience, including foreign expatriates and influencers. Although foreign participants were selected in advance, the program is open to anyone who visits the museum on the day of the event, no reservations required.
The first lecture, in the museum’s exhibition hall, will bring the audience back to the time of King Sejong’s reign (1397-1450),allowing them a glimpse of the social context for his reign and accomplishments. The second lecture,in the museum’s theater, will provide an opportunity to examine the structure of the Yeongneung, the first combined tomb for a king and a queen in Korean history.The lecture will focus on the characteristics that distinguish it from the tombs of Goryeo kings and will explain the meaning of the stone civil and military officials. Then, participants will tour the sacrificial space and the stone figures at the tomb site. It will be an interesting and fun experience as lecturers guide them through comparisons of the tomb’s structure and stone statues of Yeongneung with tombs of Chinese emperors as well as the tomb of King Gongmin (r. 1351-1374).
This educational project has been organized to raise international awareness of King Sejong's legacy and the universal value of Yeongneung as a World Heritage Site. The King Sejong Shrine Management Office will continue to actively engage local and international audiences, including foreign students, to promote and educate them about the life of King Sejong and the value of royal tombs.
