한국과 루마니아는 1990년 수교 이후 정무·경제·문화·인적교류를 비롯한 다양한 분야에서 긴밀한 협력을 이어왔으며, 최근 방산과 원전 분야로까지 협력의 폭을 넓혀가고 있습니다.

한국 방산의 기술력을 높이 평가해 주신 니쿠쇼르 다니엘 단 루마니아 대통령께 앞으로도 우수한 우리 기업들이 루마니아의 국방력 강화에 지속적으로 기여할 수 있길 바란다고 전했습니다.

양국은 항만과 인프라 분야에서도 새로운 협력 기회를 모색하기로 했으며, 교역·투자 확대는 물론 인적교류와 문화 협력 강화에도 함께 노력하자고 뜻을 모았습니다.

올해는 한-루마니아 수교 35주년을 맞는 뜻깊은 해입니다. 단 대통령님과 조속한 시일 내 직접 만나, 보다 구체적인 협력 방안을 논의할 수 있길 기대합니다.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1990, Korea and Romania have maintained close cooperation across a wide range of fields, including political affairs, the economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. In recent years, our partnership has further expanded into the defense and nuclear power sectors.

I expressed my hope to President Nicușor Daniel Dan of Romania, who highly values the technological excellence of Korea's defense industry, that our outstanding companies will continue to contribute to strengthening Romania's defense capabilities.

The two countries also agreed to explore new opportunities for cooperation in ports and infrastructure, and to work together to expand trade and investment, as well as to deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

This year marks the meaningful 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Romania. I look forward to meeting President Dan in person at an early date to discuss more concrete avenues for cooperation.
