국가유산청 국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소(소장 이규훈, 이하 '완주연구소')는 오는 7월 28일 오후 2시 상설전시 「시간을 품은 땅, 전북」의 개막식을 시작으로 완주연구소의 문화유산 조사·연구 성과를 국민과 공유하기 위한 성과홍보공간의 문을 연다.
완주연구소 성과홍보공간은 총면적 1,000㎡ 규모로, 상설전시, 어린이체험실, 열린도서관 등 다양한 공간으로 기획되었다. * 운영시간: 매주 월~금, 10:00~17:00(관람문의 : 063-290-9300) * 위 치: 국립완주문화유산연구소 1층(전북특별자치도 완주군 이서면 지사제로 168)
「시간을 품은 땅, 전북」 상설전시는 완주연구소의 조사·연구 성과를 기반으로 전북의 문화유산을 살펴볼 수 있도록 2부로 구성하였다.
'1부. 풍요의 땅, 사람이 깃들다'에서는 선사시대부터 고대에 이르기까지 전북에 사람이 정착하고 공동체를 이루며 문화를 발전시켜 온 과정을 조명한다. 군산 개사동 패총, 완주 상운리 원상운 고분군, 남원 유곡리·두락리 고분군 등 완주연구소의 대표 발굴조사 성과를 중심으로 전북 고대문화의 우수성과 학술적 가치를 소개한다.
'2부. 드넓은 대지가 품은 다채로운 이야기'에서는 전북이 가진 특색 있는 문화유산을 통해 지역의 역사와 삶을 조명한다. 제방 유적 중 하나인 익산 황등제 등에서 확인 가능한 전북의 고대 수리기술, 완주 남계리 유적(초남이성지)에 잠든 한국인 최초 천주교 순교자의 모습, 부안 청자요지의 고려청자의 뛰어난 제작기술 등을 만나볼 수 있다. * 제방(堤防): 물을 저장하거나 하천의 범람, 해수의 유입을 막기 위해 쌓은 둑
또한 어린이들이 놀이를 통해 문화유산을 자연스럽게 이해할 수 있는 어린이체험실 「도란도란 시간 놀이터」, 문화유산을 보다 깊게 이해할 수 있는 「열린도서관」 등 관람객들을 위한 여가 공간도 마련되었다. 아울러 엘이디(LED, 발광 다이오드) 미디어아트, 실감영상실 등 다양한 디지털 콘텐츠 감상 공간도 갖추어 관람객들에게 더욱 생동감 넘치는 체험을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.
국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소는 이번 성과홍보공간 개관으로 조사·연구 성과를 국민과 공유하는 열린 연구기관으로서의 역할을 강화하고, 문화유산이 지역사회와 함께 살아 숨 쉬는 자산이 되도록 다양한 전시와 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영할 계획이다. 앞으로 전북 문화유산의 가치를 국민과 공유하고 다음 세대에게 전하는 대표 문화공간으로 자리매김하기를 기대한다.
On July 28, a new public outreach space showcasing the research achievements of the Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (Director: Lee Gyu-hoon), an affiliate of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage under the Korea Heritage Service, will open the permanent exhibition Jeonbuk, a Land Steeped in Time

It has been designed to help visitors better understand the value and historical significance of the institute's cultural heritage investigations and research through a variety of facilities, including a permanent exhibition, a children's activity room, and an open library.

The permanent exhibition Jeonbuk, a Land Steeped in Time, draws on the Institute's exploration of the cultural heritage of Jeonbuk State. It is organized into two sections: Part I. A Land of Abundance, Where People Have Long Lived and Part II. Diverse Stories Across a Vast Land.
Part I traces the story of human settlement in Jeonbuk from prehistoric times to the ancient period, exploring the communities that formed here and the cultures that flourished. Highlighting some of the Institute's most significant archaeological excavations, including the Gaesa-dong Shell Mound in Gunsan, the Wonsangun Tumuli in Wanju, and the Yugok-ri and Durak-ri Tumuli in Namwon, exhibition showcases the excellence and academic significance of Jeonbuk's ancient cultural heritage.
Part II explores the history of the people of Jeonbuk and their everyday lives by examining the region's distinctive cultural heritage. Visitors can learn about the advanced ancient irrigation technology exemplified by the Hwangdeungje in Iksan, the story of Korea's first Catholic martyrs, who is buried at the Namgye-ri Site (Chonami Shrine) in Wanju; and the exceptional artisanry of the Goryeo-era celadon produced at kiln sites in Buan.
The new facility also includes a children's activity room called the Doran Doran Time Playground, a space where children can engage with cultural heritage through play. There is also the Open Library, which offers visitors opportunities to explore cultural heritage in greater depth. Together, they provide all ages with enjoyable and immersive ways to experience the cultural heritage of Jeonbuk. Visitors can also appreciate the dynamic experiences provided through a range of digital content, including LED media art and an immersive media room.
With the opening of this new public outreach space, the Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage aims to strengthen its role as an open research institution by sharing the results of its investigations with the public. The institute will continue to offer a wide range of exhibitions and educational programs to ensure that cultural heritage remains a living asset shared with local communities. It hopes that the new space will become a leading cultural destination where the value of Jeonbuk's cultural heritage can be shared with the public and passed on to future generations.
