국가유산청 궁능유적본부(본부장 조규형)는 남양주 사릉 역사문화관의 전시 개편을 완료하고 오는 11월 3일부터 새롭게 문을 연다. * 사릉(思陵): 경기 남양주시 진건읍에 있는 조선 제6대 단종의 왕비 정순왕후(定順王后, 1440~1521)의 능으로, 2009년 유네스코 세계유산으로 등재된 조선왕릉 40기 중 하나임.
이번에 개편된 역사문화관은 '사릉의 역사', '정순왕후의 삶', '세계유산 조선왕릉'의 세 가지 주제로 구성되었다.
먼저, ▲ 사릉의 역사와 관련해서는 정순왕후의 무덤이 왕릉 '사릉'이 되기까지의 과정을 살펴본 뒤, 같은 해 왕릉이 된 단종의 장릉과 사릉의 특징을 영상으로 비교해 볼 수 있다. 관련 문서 자료를 통해 정순왕후 사후에 사릉을 지켜 온 해주 정씨 가문의 이야기를 만나 볼 수 있으며, 무인안내기(키오스크)로는 사릉 곳곳을 둘러볼 수 있다.
▲ 정순왕후의 삶은 연표와 만화 영화(애니메이션), 옛 기록을 담은 무인안내기(키오스크)로 만나 볼 수 있다. 연표는 단종과 이별한 뒤 홀로 살다 떠난 정순왕후의 일생과 함께 단종의 생애, 사릉의 조성 과정을 담았다. 전시실 안쪽 벽의 7.6m 폭 대형 화면에서는 그 삶을 배우 박정자의 목소리로 풀어낸 만화 영화(애니메이션) '그리움이 머문 곳, 사릉'이 상영된다. 관람객은 무인안내기(키오스크)를 통해 연표와 영상 속 정순왕후의 삶을 옛 기록으로 직접 찾아 읽어볼 수도 있다.
마지막으로, ▲ '세계유산 조선왕릉'과 '조선왕릉 모두 보기'에서는 조선왕릉 40기의 분포 현황과 역사, 세계유산으로서의 가치를 소개하며, 무인안내기(키오스크)로 각 능의 상세한 정보도 확인할 수 있다.
국가유산청 궁능유적본부는 앞으로도 조선왕릉 역사문화관을 찾는 방문객들이 휴식과 함께 조선왕릉의 가치를 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 전시 콘텐츠의 내실화를 위해 더욱 노력할 예정이다.
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center (Director General: Jo Gyu-hyeong) of the Korea Heritage Service has completed its renovation of the exhibitions at the History Center of the Sareung Royal Tomb in Namyangju and will reopen the center to the public on November 3. * Sareung Royal Tomb: Located in Jingeon-eup, Namyangju in Gyeonggi-do Province, Sareung is the tomb of Queen Jeongsun (1440–1521), the queen consort of King Danjong (the sixth ruler of the Joseon Dynasty). It is one of the 40 Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty that were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2009.
The newly renovated History Center focuses on three themes: the history of Sareung Royal Tomb, the life of Queen Jeongsun, and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The first theme, ▲ "The History of Sareung Royal Tomb," helps visitors trace how Queen Jeongsun's tomb became Sareung Royal Tomb. They can watch a video comparing its features with those of Jangneung Royal Tomb, the tomb of King Danjong, which was also elevated to royal tomb status in the same year. Historical documents shed light on the Haeju Jeong clan, which cared for the tomb following Queen Jeongsun's death, and an interactive kiosk allows visitors to explore various areas within Sareung.
The second theme, ▲ "The Life of Queen Jeongsun," includes a timeline, an animated film, and an interactive kiosk featuring historical records. The timeline traces the life of Queen Jeongsun, who lived out her remaining years alone after being separated from King Danjong, alongside King Danjong's life and the establishment of Sareung Royal Tomb. An animated film entitled Sareung: Where Longing Lingers, narrated by actress Park Jeong-ja, is screened on a 7.6-meter-wide screen on the back wall of the exhibition gallery. Visitors can also use the interactive kiosk to find and read historical records relating to Queen Jeongsun's life as presented in the timeline and film.
Lastly, the sections ▲ "Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty as UNESCO World Heritage" and "Explore All the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty" explain the distribution and history of the 40 royal tombs and their significance as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can also access detailed information about each royal tomb through an interactive kiosk.
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center of the Korea Heritage Service will continue to enhance its exhibition content to better help visitors to the history centers at the royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty understand the significance of the royal tombs while enjoying a pleasant visit.
